Race for Life 2015 Report from Mel……
“I am not a natural runner…in fact normally the thought of any sort of cardio exercise fills me with dread! However after some gentle persuasion from Lizzie I signed up to the 5K Muddy Race for Life to support Cancer Research, a cause which is, like most of us very close to my heart.
Training for the event included an 8 week running club with a fantastic group of ladies! None of us are ever going to be Olympic runners but we certainly learnt some excellent techniques on how to run faster and with style!
On the day the support of the ladies, and the crowds enabled us to walk, jog and run through mud, over obstacles, down slides and finally through the finish line! It was a fantastic experience and I had a great sense of achievement…even if I did have to be washed down with a hose pipe afterwards! Roll on next years race :-)”
